ACCTA 2022 Annual Conference Theme

Standing on shifting sands:  Navigating our Counseling Center Crisis as Trainers
(Balancing Values, Beliefs, Cultures, and Practices)

About this year’s conference theme:

Several years of ACCTA conference survey feedback (pre-pandemic) guided a plan for our upcoming conferences to explore the intersection of training with: disability (2021 conference), religion, and age. With this in mind, the ACCTA Board began planning the 2022 conference with an intention to center religion/spirituality. However, we recognize that the past 2 years have shifted the landscape of university counseling, and that members have been facing new challenges in sustaining their programs and themselves. Therefore, we arrived at a both/and vision for the conference theme, that reflects these “shifting sands”.  We encourage submission of a range of programs that explore how we navigate values, beliefs, cultures, and practices in our training programs in these evolving times – whether at the individual, interpersonal, or institutional level.  We look forward to some very rich and sustaining discussions.
